Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Mr Jollof contested during the election as a Delta House of Representatives candidate under the Sowore’s platform Africa Action Congress (AAC).

From obvious indications, he lost by a clear margin in the polls which was held on February 23, 2019. As a reaction to his defeat, the man who is a media entrepreneur took to blaming his party chairman, Sowore and the party, AAC for his defeat.

He even went ahead to lambaste Sowore, the presidential candidate of the platform on which he contested. According to him, Sowore collected lots of money and refused to pay party Agents, according to him, there is scam going on in AAC.

He said the political party in question did not hire any party agent to represent candidates at polling units despite the fact that money had been provided to do just that.

Governor Ajimobi loses senatorial election.

The Oyo state Governor Ajimobi whose tenure is coming to an end soon lost to Kola Balogun of the PDP at the recently held election on Saturday.

Governor Ajimobi was beaten to second by Kola Balogun – 105,720 votes while Ajimobi polled 92,218 votes.

This declaration was made Monday morning by the returning officer of the district, Wole Akinsola, at the INEC collation centre office located in Ibadan North LGA.

In total, Mr Ajimobi won in three of the local governments in the senatorial district. Mr Balogun won the remaining six.

Imo governor Rochas Okorocha wibs senatorial election.

Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Imo west senatorial election.

He was declared the winner by the returning officer, Francis Ibeawuchi, on Monday, February 25 at the collation center in Orlu local government area of Imo state.

Okorocha polled 97,762 votes to defeat his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Jones Onyereri who got 68,117 votes.

The APC candidate also defeated the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who emerged third with 30,923 votes.

After the presentation from Gombe state, the INEC chairman grants Ondo collation officer 20 minutes to continue with reconciliation of the state’s result.

He further adjourned the collation exercise to 8pm.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has shifted the announcement of the 2019 Presidential election results to Monday 25th February, 2019 by 11am.

The Chairman of the commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu made the announcement at the National Collation Centre in Abuja, moments ago.

The commission had through the brief meeting announced that it had not rescheduled any election in any part of the country and Nigerians should disregard any presidential election results announcement from any platform on the internet.

He said;

’It has also come to our notice that some election “results” are circulating on the various social media platforms, Kindly disregard such “results” as only INEC is constitutionally empowered to declare the outcome of the elections’.

Shocking news !!! Court orders Arrest of Jay Jay Okocha.

A Lagos Division of the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former Super Eagles star, Austin Okocha, over tax evasion charges, Premium Times reports.
Mr Okocha – or Jay Jay Okocha as he is popularly known – has repeatedly failed to appear before the court to answer why he allegedly failed to pay his income taxes.
Adedayo Akintoye, the judge, issued the warrant for the arrest of the former Eagles captain on January 29 and thereafter adjourned until February 19.
However, on February 19, the prosecution had not effected the arrest forcing the judge to, again, adjourn till April 15 and ordering that the warrant be executed by then.
The football star is facing a three-count charge instituted by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice bordering on failure to furnish his income returns and nonpayment of tax.


The state filed the charges through its prosecutor, Jide Martins, in June 2017 and the suit began four months later.
The defendant, however, had failed to appear in court.
After several adjournments without Mr Okocha appearing despite having been served the court papers, Mr Martins prayed the court to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.
According to the prosecutor, Mr Okocha had failed to furnish his income returns for tax purposes to the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service.
Mr Martins also said that the defendant had failed to pay his income taxes.
He said the offences contravened Sections 56 (a) and (b) of the Lagos State Revenue Administration Law No. 8, 2006 and Section 94 (1) of the Personal Income Tax Act Cap P8, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

Yobe state university set to become centre of robotics and artificial intelligence in nigeria.

Yobe State University is set to become the centre of Robotics & Artificial Intelligence after signing a memorandum of understanding with the ICT University, Louisiana, USA in Damaturu penultimate week.
The short ceremony was held at the Senate Chambers of the University in Damaturu with the Vice Chancellor of Yobe State University Prof. Yakubu Mukhtar and the President, Board of Trustee of the ICT University, Prof. Victor Mbarika both signing on behalf of their institutions.
“We will be having a lot of Lecturers and Students Exchanges in this institution. Our number one goal is research and scholarship and we will ensure that good researches come out of both institutions so that Yobe State will be one of the Premier destinations of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and modern areas of IT Research,” Prof Mbarika disclosed.
Speaking shortly before the MoU signing, the Vice Chancellor of Yobe State University, Prof. Yakubu Mukhtar, said his institution will continue to open her doors and establish linkages with other institutions, home and abroad to fast track its growth and development.
Prof Mukhtar also maintained that the MoU with ICTU will surely open ways for YSU in future collaboration to various opportunities and institutions across the world.
“No Organization can exist as an Island on itself. As an institution of higher learning, we need to collaborate both within and outside the country. That is why I am so pleased with this collaboration and I am sure, Yobe State University is going to benefit immensely from it. We are very keen to give every support to see this MoU to the next level”, Prof. Mukhtar promised.


In his remarks, the President of the ICT University, Professor Victor Mbarika, disclosed that the institution is very seriously keen with the implementation of the project, stressing that “all equipment will be flown from New York to Lagos for collection in the next 6-8 weeks”.
His words: “We are very seriously keen about our partnership because we are answerable to ICT University Foundation and its funding agencies. So to be fair to them and to the institutions in the developing world that we collaborate with, we want to ensure that we don’t just stop at the signing of MoUs and MoAs but to actually see to their implementations.
“After the signing of an MoU like this, within the period of six to eight weeks, we do everything possible to fly the equipment from our hub in New York City to Lagos where the equipment will be collected.
“We have equipment for the E-learning and the E-Library and a Multi-Media equipment to help with the implementation of the Health Information Technology Diploma Program with this University’s School of Medicine. Our goal is to ensure that there is a strong information technology presence or we continue to enhance the presence of IT that this institution already has through the great leadership of Prof. Mukhtar,” Prof Mbarika said.
It was gathered that ICTU has gotten an approval to establish the West African Campus in Kaduna State in addition to other campuses in Uganda, Cameroon.
